Articles and Publications

Welcome to the Articles and Publications section of the ABA-VR project.

The ABA-VR project aims to equip higher education students and professionals with the skills needed to effectively support individuals on the autism spectrum and manage challenging behaviours. To achieve this, our innovative training model combines the evidence-based principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Behavioural Skills Training (BST) with immersive Virtual Reality (VR) simulations.

As a core part of this European consortium, we have conducted extensive field research—including empirical surveys and focus groups across our partner countries—to evaluate the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of current ABA training programmes.

In this section, we share the results of our ongoing research with the academic community, educators, professionals, and the general public. Here you will find:

  • Research Reports: Detailed documents based on our field research, which identify the current strengths and areas for improvement in autism education and staff training.
  • Scientific Articles and Publications: Papers published in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings that reflect our findings on the impact of integrating Virtual Reality and BST into autism support training.

By providing these open-access resources, our ultimate goal is to disseminate the proven benefits of Applied Behaviour Analysis, combat the misinformation surrounding the discipline, and positively influence future European policies on autism treatment and the modernization of higher education.

We invite you to explore our publications and learn more about the scientific impact of the ABA-VR project.
